Spanish journalist Ruben Uria reports that Atletico Madrid have announced their interest in signing Robert Lewandowski this summer.
Rojiblancos believe Barca could be willing to pull out Lewandowski and are ready to make a decent bid for the new striker.
It's hard to see how this will turn out as Atleti have strikers like Angel Correa and Alvaro Morata on their roster. They also have the influential young striker Samu Omorodion who has done remarkably well on loan from Alaves.
Lewandowski is Barca highest-paid player whose departure will lighten his wage bill as he turns 36 next August. But the Polish captain insists he loves life in Barcelona and wants to stay for his family.
If Lewandowski leaves Barca you would imagine he would move to the United States where he could play there as Leo Messi with Luis Suarez and other Barca legends are doing.
Lewandowski has scored 20 goals and nine assists this season although the campaign has been difficult for him.
