According to Catalan outlet El Nacional, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is still interested in midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni and has given the go-ahead for the club to pursue him.
It is reported that Liverpool have made an initial offer of €55m (£47m) for the player. Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is open to selling Tchouameni but is seeking €85m (£68m) for his transfer.
Liverpool were beaten by Real Madrid, who secured Tchouameni's services in a deal worth up to £85m. However, the 23-year-old midfielder has had limited playing time at the Spanish club, often coming off the bench.
The recent signing of Jude Bellingham has raised doubts about his future in Real Madrid, so speculation surrounding Tchouameni's potential move to Anfield has intensified.
Tchouameni can be a great signing for Liverpool, he is admired by experts like Rio Ferdinand, who considers him a massive improvement to any team.
Ferdinand said: "In midfield, you know who I would go and get? I would go try to get Tchouameni. He's the one who doesn't play, he is the odd man out at the moment. I'd go and try and get him. Massive improvement."
