In an interview with Brazilian media outlet Placar, Casemiro described how he looked back at his decision to join Man United from Real Madrid last summer.
"First, I talked to my family, who immediately accepted it," he said. "It was the chance to leave a big club on top, at an age that still allows me to have that willpower.
"If it were two or three years from now, I wouldn't leave Real Madrid to go to another big one, I wouldn't have that ambition to change leagues and leverage another giant club.
"Everyone at the club has always been very affectionate, I felt loved from day one, which wasn't easy after spending ten years at Real Madrid," he added.
"It's the result of the work on the field, it was a very good mix of fans, employees, players, and this has been very important for my adaptation."
It was not long before Casemiro established himself as a crucial player in Erik ten Hag's team, making 45 appearances in his first campaign at Old Trafford.
Now, after just one year of absence, the five-time Champions League winner will play in this competition once again in an attempt to take Man United to the top.
