Napoli sack coach two days before Barcelona clash

Napoli set to sack their coach Walter Mazzarri reports Fabrizio Romano.

This happened just two days before their Champions League match against Barcelona.

The Blues are set to appoint Francesco Calzona as their new manager. The 55-year-old recently led Slovakia to the Euro 2024 group stage playing some impressive football. He also worked with Maurizio Sarri and Luciano Spalletti for a while who later led Napoli to their long-awaited league title last season.

This news is very worrying for us. Napoli look really average under Mazzarri and have won just one of their last five games. Hopefully the change of manager will not serve as a serious impetus for them.

Barca take on Napoli away on Wednesday 21 February.
